The wireless go to the singers, and the wired ones go to musicians.

We use a Behringer X32 board. There are a couple of apps (android vs iOS) that let each musician/singer change their personal Ears mix.

It’s an excellent setup and works great. Lots of customization and control, but not a huge investment.

In-ear buds are important but don’t have to be expensive. Amazon sells the KZ ZSN for about $30 each. They work great.

You can send MIDI from a PC to a Mac as well. You will just need to setup rtpMIDI on the PC computer. To do this, go here:
https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/rtpmidi.html. Then download rtpMIDI at the top right and follow the tutorial. Then you can
connect both computers to the network.

I tested Prime with Midi Out (on an iPad) and sent the Midi cues to a Windows PC (Win 10) where the tool rtpMIDI was running. I can confirm that the same Midi cue can be interpreted by different apps at the same time. In my case, I was using Propresenter for the lyrics and DMXControl 3 for the lights. When I sent e.g. note 19 with velocity 4, Propresenter triggered the correct slide and DMXControl 3 received the inpul as well. I haven’t created any rules at DMXControl yet (not familiar yet with the tool), but that doesn’t matter for now. What counts is that it works 🙂

I encountered something else, which might need a small enhancement: Usually, the slide should be shown a bar before the next section starts. But when I want to e.g. sing verse 1 again and double tap it during a performance, then the correct lyrics are not shown because the Midi cue for this would be sent at the end of the intro. It would be great to have an option to resend the last Midi cue which was set in front of the double tapped section. A work around would be to send the Midi cue a 2nd time with the start of the section.

As long as the lyric and lightning software are on the same computer, then it will work. You’ll just want to make sure that none of the notes being sent to one software, also trigger something in the other software.

Do you know if it’s possible to send Midi Cues to more than one Software, e.g. in order to control lights at the same time? Of course, the lights software has to run on the same device like Propresenter, but will it work? I haven’t had the chance yet to test it and didn’t find any details about this yet.

You are correct there isn’t a way to add section markers to Prime Pads at this time, so there isn’t an easy way to loop it, but you could add more than one instance of a Prime Pad to your setlist, and turn on the Overlap transition so it continues into the next Prime pad with no break. You could also change the End Time of the second one to shorten it if you didn’t want to play the whole thing.

Hey Jake,

If the audio files have embedded tempo information then this may be causing them to stretch improperly. Try bouncing each of the audio files to a new audio track in Logic, and turn on Flex for those tracks and see if you’re able to have success!

If the section you want to jump to is highlighted, but not jumping, it’s possible that’s because of when you have your jump time set to. Go to your settings in Prime, and the top setting will say Jump Time. If it is set to End of Section, it will not jump until the marker gets to the end of the section. This is a great option because it won’t jump in the middle of a lyric. You can also choose after 1 bar, or after 2 bars. Then the count in to jump to the next section will trigger after 1 or 2 measures.

YouTube has an automatic reader that will flag any original music. The first thing to do is make sure you are not monetizing the video. If you are using Master Tracks (original tracks from the artist) it will still most likely be flagged. We recommend using Premium Tracks, Community Tracks, or Enhancement Tracks from Loop Community. These tracks will not be flagged and we give you permission if you have a CCLI streaming license to stream these tracks.

I’ve just started using the software, currently running it on my Macbook Pro, but I can’t seem to be able to jump between locator markers whilst in playback using midi – each location marker is mapped, and when I press the appropriate button the mapped section is highlighted, but the cue doesn’t jump to the new location, it just carries on playing from where it is currently. If I stop playback, when I press the same button the cue jumps to the relevant section and playback resumes from the correct point. I’m just testing with a Novation LaunchPad Mini before we start using the setup at church, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, there is not a way to change the cue on purchased track. But they should match the original arrangement. There isn’t a way to directly make a medley of two songs. You can add a transition to the end of your song to have it fade or seamlessly go into the next song though. There is not a way to export your tracks from Prime with the edited arrangement and import them into Ableton Live.
You will have to do all of the editing inside of Ableton to edit the arrangement. Sorry about that!

Thanks for the feedback! For transitioning between Prime Pads, there are a few options.
1. You can shorten the End Time of the pad down to the amount of time you need. Click the dropdown arrow next to the timestamp of the pad (00:00 / 10:00 for example) and then shorten the End Time to where you would like the pad to end. Then turn on a transition to the right of the pad in your setlist. The Crossfade or Overlap transition will happen 10 seconds before the end of the pad in order to smoothly transition between the pad.
2. You can also use the Crossfade on Demand feature. To do this, turn the Crossfade transition on. Then you can click the Next button at any point in the pad and it will trigger a crossfade to smoothly transition between the pad and the next track. Currently it is not possible to delete a Start or End Section in Prime. This is because of how transitions work in the Start and End Sections. We do hope to have this as an option in a future update. What you can do for now, is change the Start or End time to shorten them to one second long. To do this, click the drop down arrow next to the time of the track (00:00/4:30 for example). Then click the minus or plus buttons to shorten the Start or End time.

Of the Midi foot controllers I find when I search for Looptimus, I can’t make out if any of these will do what I want from the Looptimus. Which is the Pad Mode.

Do you know of any equivalent Midi Foot Controller that has such a Pad Mode.

Hey Freddy,

If you are wanting to jump back to a section, there is not a way for it to read the cue that is in a previous section. So the only way right now to fix this is to put your cues right at the start of each section. Then it will be triggered when you repeat a section.

Yes! Our amazing partners are allowing for Master, Premium and Community tracks to be live streamed for a limited time.

MIDI Cues in Prime will work with any software that accepts MIDI On/Off notes, Program Changes or Control Changes.

We don’t currently have plans for MIDI Clock, but I will pass this feedback along to our team to look into!

Hey Jacob, there isn’t a set wifi speed that you will need to run MIDI Cues, but you may need to test it with your internet to make sure it works. We recommend a private network so there isn’t other people on it slowing it down.

Please tell me I’m missing something and there’s some special key shortcuts that make these issues go away.

Unless you’re putting 6 lines on a slide, actually using these cues for lyrics timing will be difficult at best. Just spent 45 minutes trying to get one song close to right (still not there). Not sure three+ hours per week to setup lyrics is sustainable. May just have to go back to having a volunteer manually fire slides.

Hey Dave, there isn’t a way to send MIDI Clock with Prime, so there isn’t a way to sync the tempo with the keyboard.

Hey Atticus, when connected to the Looptimus, the mini only adds three MIDI signals. The second layer does go away.

Hey Rodney, we haven’t tested Prime with Dante, but we do know that other users have had success with it. One thing to check is that your Dante is set to 44.1 kHz, as that is what Prime sends the audio at. I’d also make sure the buffer settings are turned all the way up. Hope this helps!

Hey Matthew, it would depend on your setup, we haven’t tested it with that specific interface, so I’m not 100% sure. I do knnow you could use an ethernet connection to send the MIDI cues. We use a USB C to ethernet adapter to send the MIDI Cues via a wired connection.

MIDI Mapping a Looptimus or MIDI Controller allows you to control your tracks with a controller. So you can jump between sections, start/stop your tracks, and more!

It will save in the setlist, or you can save the song as a custom arrangement to use in a different setlist and this will also save the MIDI Cues!

First, make sure that you are updated to Prime 6.0.7 in the Mac App Store. Then, make sure that you have connected to a network in your Prime settings, under MIDI Cues Connection. If you don’t see an option to click anything there, make sure that in your Audio MIDI Setup, the IAC Driver is turned on and the Session is on. This is shown in the video above. There isn’t a way to go back to the beginning, but you can add that track again in your setlist, and put it right after the first track. So when the first track ends it goes into the next track which is the same song. Hope this helps!

We haven’t tested this, but Track Rig should work with any music software that can send outputs via USB.

Hi Peter, there is not currently a way to upload the section markers with your tracks. Because the tracks are uploaded as audio files, the section markers will not export with the tracks out of your DAW, and they aren’t able to be uploaded with the tracks into Prime. Sorry about that!

Hi Chris, there are a few ways you can do this!
1. Double tap on another section, and select the one you want from the list to add it back
2. Click Edit Song, Edit Arrangement, then RESET to reset the entire song to the original sections
3. You can bring in the Original version of the track again to that setlist or another setlist by selecting Add Song, and then clicking the track you want.

Hi Alfonso, when you upload tracks make sure that the Click and Cues/Guide tracks are labeled CLICK and CUES on the site when you upload them. This will put them in the Red Fader section so they are panned to the left.
